The timber rattlesnake is a venomous, robust snake, that have triangular shaped heads and can consist of several colors such as yellow, black, grey, or dark brown. The head of a timber rattlesnake has many smaller scales, without any patterns.
Due to the decline of timber rattlesnakes, they are listed as a threatened species in several states.
Diet - They usually eat small rodents such as mice, squirrels and frogs.
Habitat - As the name suggests, these snakes prefer to live in dense forests, however many forests are being demolished for either resources such as wood, or space, hence why the timber rattlesnake is starting to become endangered
Bite - These snakes are quite placid, compared to other rattlesnakes, however if you a lucky enough to encounter one, just walk away from it, the snake will not chase you or follow you. If you are traveling into forests, where timber snakes can be found, remember to wear thick boots, and even gloves if the forest is very dense
Life span - They can live for twelve to twenty years, depending on the quality of life and area.
